25th Annual NC Big Sweep, Saturday, Sept. 24 2011
9 am – 12 noon
This year will be the 25th Annual Big Sweep across North Carolina. Dare County residents have been strong supporters of the event since its inception in 1987.
In the wake of Hurricane Irene, extra cleanup is needed along our coast and inland waterways and it is our hope for this event to be even stronger than years past. We are currently looking for sponsors to help us achieve this goal.
All proceeds will go towards the costs of facilitating the event with any remaining funds put towards next year's event. Sponsorship donations are used for advertising the event, having water and other supplies on hand at the zone locations, printing the t-shirts and flyers, and the appreciation Trash Fest after party at the Outer Banks Brewing Station.
In return you'll receive logo recognition on the t-shirt, posters, advertisements, radio announcement, event day announcements and at zone locations, depending on your level of sponsorship.
Over 130 Dare County volunteers assisted in cleaning up the beaches and watersheds in 2009, picking up over 102 bags of trash for a total of 2,500 pounds from over 70 miles of coastline and coastal waterways.
